Is it worth it? Hell no IMO. They started to suck the nanosecond they were bought by Clear Channel. I went in 2005 and it was okay. My experience is that the band lineups are good but when half the crowd decides to channel their inner asshole - that adds up to a bad vibe and hostile energy. I won't be going back to Manchester, TN anytime soon.

Magnolia Fest, Rothbury, 10,000 Lakes, Langerado, Wakarusa are head and shoulders above Bonnaroo. And there is no shortage of smaller, localized festivals: Sleeping Bear Dunegrass, Telluride Bluegrass, High Sierra, Floydfest, Merlefest, Mayhem on the Mountain, Northwest String Summit that are very well done. I've been to Magnolia Fest, Langerado, 10,000 Lakes, Merlefest, Floydfest, NWSS and Rothbury and they each eclipsed Bonnaroo.

Just my $.02.
